Free Rock Band 1/2 DLC Tracks from Stride Gum!

Yeah, so normally when I see something like this, I think "ultra-spam". But sometimes the spam calls to us so I have my hotmail account for that.

Stride Gum, I'm sure I don't have to say anymore about them as to who they are, is teaming up with Rock Band to give away 1,000 free DLC songs (160MSP) per day for 20 days.

Thinking this might be a spam nightmare, I went ahead and went to the link:

http://www.stridelovesrockband.com/

and entered my name, phone #, email address (use your disposable e-mail address of course), birthdate and game platform (Xbox 360 or PS3), and submit. You can enter in the e-mail addresses of your buddies, but that's dirty and underhanded so don't be doing that.

Today I check my hotmail and blammo, I see this:
Congratulations, Travis !

Well laaaawdy! So just to be sure, I login to Xbox Live, type in the code, and blammo, 160MSP (that's Microsoft Points, Xbox Live's monetary system) added to my account.

I can't comment yet on the level of spam that might be generated from this. I did of course uncheck the boxes that say "blah blah click here to get offers blah blah" which usually means you'll only get 200,000,000 pieces of spam instead of the 500,000,000 that keeping that box checked would get you.

Again, use your disposable e-mail addresses, which is just sage advice I'm sure you already know, even though I haven't received any increase in spam as of yet. We'll see.

Also: please forgive the site as we are getting it fixed up to go live. I just couldn't resist posting this, which I found over at www.rockgamer.com, a great site all about Rock Band and Guitar Hero and any other music/rhythm game.

Angrygames.com will be a mash of lots of stuff, and we'll always link you to our favorite places like www.overclockersclub.com for PC hardware reviews and news, and RockGamer.com previously mentioned for my favorite games: Rock Band 1 and 2!
